Box net Manager

Do you have a box.net account? Box.net is an online file storage that gives you 1 gb of free space for you to keep your files.
Since box.net has an api to help manage files I decided to write a simple application to help me manage my files using my TreePane control.
You can see the application here . If you don't have a box.net account you can create one. I am still deciding if I am going to release this code as open source.

C Sharp versus Vb.net

No ..I am not going to post here that one of these languages are better then the other( I prefer C Sharp). I work with .net since 2003 and since then I have dedicated 80% of the time using C Sharp , but now I started to work on a very big project with vb.net and I saw some things in the Visual Studio missing.
When you are coding in C Sharp and you declare a variable of the SqlConnection type you have the option of right clicking under the SqlConnection keyword and you get the very useful Resolve context menu that gives you the chance to automatically put an using on the top of your code... now I was doing the same in vb.net and where is the resolve menu???? well this is a very usefull feature that I miss very much..
and you have you seen another feature of Visual Studio that only works when you are in a C Sharp project?

New version of the controls

There is a new version of the ExtJsExtenderControls out... and one important update. Finally the controls should work when in a master page...
in an unraleted issue I am at washington right now I will be here until the end of the month.

Studing for another MCP

This week you wont see any new developements to my codeplex project (at least done by me) .Thats because I am studing to take a new MCP exam .Next week after I take the test I will try to make something new...The good news is that a codeplex user has sent me a patch that will(he says) fix the master page issues of the controls ..the bad news is that I have to change all controls...and that requires time ...something I am not having lately.

Why should any developer know english?

1. No matter what language or framework you work you will write in English( basic English ...but you will)
2. You should be able to a least post questions in an international forum and this will increase the chance of your post receiving an answer.
3. Some forums (like the asp.net forums) have the presence of the developer team , and there is no one better to solve your problem.

As incredible as it seems I have crossed path with developers that didn't know English and that where very good. But as the time passed I became a better developer because I could read the articles about upcoming technologies first .

Happy hollydays

Another year is ending and this time I have news.
I am leaving my current job and facing a new challenge in my life.
This will probably mean that I will be dedicating less time to my codeplex project..
so its the project dead? well that's up to you . Lots of people asked me to become developers and I have always accepted then , but none of then (except dimitry) gave any contribution.
So, if anyone wants to be a developer just contact me.

My Forum

Its now almost one month without any posts to my forum...so I am thinking to delete it..

I am back..

I am back to Brasil and back o work. It will take me a couple of days to get back to full speed development. But I plan to update my website very soon.

Here is what it is on my mind.

1. Fix bugs in some samples
2. Put all the samples in the samples menu

Trip

It is confirmed I will be going to Miami next month.

I will arrive may 12 and leave may 25.

I will be visiting my mother-in-law.

And thats one of the reasons I am not making any updates to my site or posting ...

I am very busy trying to finish my work before I go on vacation..

Looks like from time to time my entire website is replaced by a page from my ISP.

Ext 1.0 to be released on monday

I just read on yui-ext forum that Ext 1.0 its scheduled to be released on monday (19). As many of you probably know I am Brazilian and in Brazil next week is "Carnaval" and that means I will start working on that week on the 22.So expect me to release the new yui-ext controls extender only in march.

I do hate "Samba", but I love the long holiday....
